Break for kids in deport fight

MORE THAN A dozen top officials on the Trump campaign were subpoenaed for of Russia-related documents last month, according to a new report.

The subpoena, issued by special prosecutor Robert Mueller’s team, requested emails and documents containing a set of Russiarelated keywords, a person familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal Thursday. It wasn’t immediately clear who was listed in the subpoena, which was Mueller’s first official demand for information from the campaign, the person said.

Trump officials are cooperating with Mueller’s investigation into possible collusion between their campaign and the Russian government but were taken aback by the subpoena's suddenness and scope, according to the report.

News of Mueller’s October subpoena comes as his team is gearing up to interview a number of current and former White House officials, according to reports. NEITHER rain nor snow nor “mail service errors” will stay these DACA kids from submitting the paperwork to avoid deportation.

Federal officials extended the reapplication deadline for an unknown number of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival enrollees Thursday after admitting the Postal Service mishandled their submissions.

Any DACA participant who missed the Oct. 5 deadline due to postal ineptitude can now reapply, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration said.

“Accepting the applications of DACA recipients who sent in their renewals on time is the right thing to do,” said House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-Queens). FEDERAL REGULATORS have weakened rules meant to support independent local media.

Now, one company can own newspapers and broadcast stations in one market, undoing a ban in place since 1975. Thursday’s decision by the Federal Communications Commission also makes it easier for one company to own two broadcast TV stations in one market and coordinate operations with stations owned by others.

Free Press, a group that opposes media mergers, said Thursday that it will challenge the rule changes in court.
