Missing sub may have sent signals

BUENOS AIRES — Argentina’s Navy detected seven brief satellite calls Saturday that officials believe may have come from a submarine with 44 crew members that hadn’t been heard from in three days.

The communication attempts “indicate that the crew is trying to re-establish contact, so we are working to locate the source of the emissions,” the Navy said on its Twitter account, adding that the calls lasted between four and 36 seconds.

Authorities last had contact with the German-built diesel-electric sub, the ARA San Juan, on Wednesday as it was on a voyage from the extreme southern port of Ushuaia to Mar del Plata. IT’S A DREAM come true for “The Nightmare Before Christmas” fans.

Composer Danny Elfman — who wrote the score for the 1993 animated flick and provided the singing voice for protagonist Jack Skellington — headlines two concerts next month at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where he and other original cast members will sing all 10 songs from “Nightmare” as the movie plays on a big screen behind them.

It marks the first time Elfman and his co-stars — who performed the show at the Hollywood Bowl last year — have brought the show to New York.

Elfman is eager to hit a high note for a Brooklyn audience.

“They just really can expect ‘Nightmare Before Christmas.’ We’re really doing it. I’m really happy to have the original cast,” Elfman told the Daily News. “It is what you’d expect the movie to sound and feel like — it’s just all live.”
