Cops seeking man on vid in B’klyn killing

- Adam Shrier

POLICE ON Saturday released surveillance footage of a man wanted for questioning in the unsolved murder of a 25-year-old man shot in the lobby of a Brooklyn housing project.

The man cops are looking for was seen walking into the Unity Plaza Houses on Dumont Ave. by Williams Ave. in Brownsville shortly before Dawud Escort was shot around 6:30 p.m. Nov. 1, cops said.

The person of interest (inset) left the building with another man a short time after entering, sources said.

Escort was hanging out with his girlfriend in the building’s lobby when the gunman stepped out of an elevator and blasted him in the chest, back and arm.

Escort made a desperate dash to the lobby of his own Unity Plaza apartment building around the corner on Hinsdale St. and collapsed. Medics rushed him to Brookdale University Hospital but he could not be saved.

Escort, who police say is affiliated with the Bloods, was released from prison in September after being convicted of possession of a forged instrument in December 2015. Police believe the shooting is gang-related.

The person of interest in his killing was wearing black sneakers, a black hoodie and black pants.
