Republican gives to Dem rival in ’Bama

-

SEN. JEFF FLAKE, who has been openly critical of Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, made a donation to Moore’s Democratic rival on Tuesday. Flake (R-Ariz., below) posted a photo on his Twitter account of a $100 check (photo) he signed to support Doug Jones’ campaign.

“That’s the reason I came down as a volunteer to speak for Judge Roy Moore, because he stands for the rights of babies like yours in the womb, where his opponent will support killing them until the moment of birth,” she said as way of an introduction.

Porter proceeded to cast doubt on allegations against the 70-year-old politician, which include claims that he molested a 14-year-old and sexually assaulted a 16-year-old in the late 1970s when he was in his 30s.

The anti-abortion activist, who has built a platform rooted in religion, anti-LGBT stances and conservative “pro-family” views, compared the accusers to criminals who have a vendetta against Moore.

“If we are talking about what is at stake here, we are talking about fake allegations, concocted stories about an innocent man versus the real threat of child abuse not only in the womb but in the locker room,” Porter said as she tried to steer the conversation away from the allegations.

She was an avid opponent of former President Barack Obama, calling his administration “downright evil.” Porter also founded the organization Faith2Action,which has been designated “an active anti-LGBT hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Council.

When she attempted to bring up Harlow’s pregnancy a second time on Tuesday she was shot down.

“Let’s leave my child out of this,” Harlow said.
