Son was grilled in stab of beau

- Chris Sommerfeldt

THE SON of scandal-plagued Michigan Rep. John Conyers — endorsed by his dad to succeed him in Congress — was taken into custody, but not charged, in the stabbing of his girlfriend earlier this year, records show.

John Conyers III was cuffed at a Los Angeles residence on Feb. 15, according to case paperwork the Daily News obtained. His girlfriend, who wasn’t identified, had called the cops after Conyers, 27, accused her of cheating on him.

The girlfriend told investigators Conyers “body-slammed her on the bed” and then “pinned her down and spit on her.”

After the woman tried to call the cops, Conyers allegedly chased her into the kitchen, where he grabbed a knife and slashed her arm.

Conyers was released on $50,000 bond the same day. Prosecutors declined to pursue charges, citing a lack of evidence.

Conyers’ 88-year-old father, John Conyers, retired from Congress this week amid allegations he sexually harassed several women on his staff.
