Gilly: Remark is sexist from ‘bully’ Trump

- Terence Cullen

SHE’S NOT buying what he’s selling.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand believes President Trump was indeed making a sexual innuendo when he tweeted she “would do anything” for campaign contributions.

“Well certainly that’s how I and many people read it,” the New York Democrat told NBC News’ “Today.” “That it was certainly a sexist smear intended to silence me.”

Gillibrand has called for Trump to resign after several women restated their claims that he sexually harassed them in the past.

That prompted Trump to refer to her as “lightweight” and “a total flunky” for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), who would come to his office “begging” for campaign donations.

Several lawmakers, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (DMass.), defended Gillibrand over what they saw as a suggestion she would trade sexual favors.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday denied their was any innuendo and who believe there was have their minds “in the gutter.” Gillibrand was unmoved. “He is a bully, and he has been attacking people across this country since he was President,” she said.
