Desist? No, we resist, and will put it out faster
A CITY publisher who got a cease-and-desist letter from President Trump’s lawyer has responded by moving up the release of a bombshell book to Friday morning. “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” by Michael Wolff (photo), which paints a chaotic picture of Trump’s first year in office and implies he never even wanted to win the 2016 presidential election, was originally going to be released Tuesday. It will now be available at 9 a.m. Friday, said Johanna Dickson, a spokeswoman for publisher Henry Holt. “Due to unprecedented demand, we are moving the onsale date for all formats,” the spokeswoman said Thursday. The announcement came just a few hours after Trump’s personal lawyer, Charles Harder, sent a cease-and-desist letter to the publishing house, demanding it shelve the book. “We are investigating numerous false and/or baseless statements that you have made,” Harder wrote in the letter. Dickson declined to discuss Harder’s letter.
