Cops: Fatal stab in Bronx self-defense
A MAN who was accused of fatally stabbing a teenager inside a Bronx restaurant was actually defending himself from the 18-yearold, police said Saturday.
The 21-year-old man was in Don Pancholo Restaurant on Jerome Ave. in Morris Heights around 3:20 p.m. on Friday when 18-year-old Aaron Roberts stormed inside and stabbed him in the chest, the NYPD said.
In retaliation, Roberts’ victim grabbed the knife and stabbed the 18-year-old multiple times in the back, cops said. Roberts died at St. Barnabas Hospital.
Police did not release the name of the 21-year-old man.
On a Facebook memorial page, Roberts’ friends and family shared their grief.
“Sitting In Aarons House Just Feel So Much Emotion. I Miss You Brother,” wrote a woman named Serenity Rose.
The teen may also have been expecting a baby. A woman posted two pictures of a sonogram on Aug. 26 and wrote she was going “to be the best mother” possible for her first baby, and tagged Roberts.
