Firm snatches up ousted chief

- Thomas Tracy

ONE OF THE four chiefs unceremoniously pushed to retire during a shakeup in the NYPD’s highest ranks earlier this week has already landed on his feet, the Daily News has learned.

SilverSEAL Corp., a security firm based in New York and London, announced Wednesday that it had hired former NYPD Chief of Transit Joseph Fox (photo) as the company’s chief of staff. SilverSEAL provides security services to multinational corporations, foundations and law firms.

NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill asked Fox, Community Affairs Chief Joanne Jaffe, Personnel Chief Diana Pizzuti and Citywide Operations Chief Thomas Purtell to put in their papers Monday as he made a dozen high-level promotions. The shakeup helped propel several officers of color and women into the department’s top spots.
