Pierre: ‘I’ve got cancer’

NBC hockey analyst Pierre McGuire announced he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer before Wednesday night’s game between the Wild and Blackhawks in Chicago on NBCSN.

McGuire’s announcement should be sobering for everyone.

“I had no symptoms at all,” McGuire, 56, told USA TODAY Sports. “If I wouldn’t have had a physical, I would have kept going and I never would have known, because nothing was bothering me.”

McGuire has stage 1 cancer and is not being treated with chemotherapy

l The Blackhawks have acquired winger Anthony Duclair from the Arizona Coyotes in a four-player trade. Headed to Phoenix is winger Richard Panik and minor leaguer Laurent Dauphin. Chicago also gets defenseman Adam Clendening along with ex-Ranger Duclair.
