Toys ‘R’ Us founder, 94, passes
ToYS “r” US founder Charles Lazarus died Thursday, days after the company he built into the country’s leading toy retailer announced it would liquidate its inventory and close all of its U.S. stores. He was 94.
“There have been many sad moments for Toys ‘r’ Us in recent weeks, and none more heartbreaking than today’s news about the passing of our beloved founder, Charles Lazarus,” the company said in a statement.
The cause of death was not released.
