Poll and the city: Miranda’s a loser

- Kenneth Lovett BY GREG B. SMITH

ALBANY — Cynthia Nixon has grabbed a lot of headlines since entering the Democratic primary race for governor, but still lags far behind Gov. Cuomo in New York City, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.

Asked who would be a better governor for the city, 58% of those polled said Cuomo while 22% said Nixon.

Cuomo did even better among Democrats, where 64% said he’d be better for the city while 21% said Nixon.

Cuomo is strong in the city among women, blacks and Hispanics. He's also way ahead in each of the boroughs, running above 60% in the Bronx and Brooklyn, where Nixon kicked off her campaign last week.
