Ramblings with little ‘structure’

- Denis Slattery

IN A FREEWHEELING speech about infrastructure, President Trump bragged about what he sees as his accomplishments — a list of questionable claims that didn’t include much on infrastructure.

Trump admitted that his $200 billion federal initiative to rebuild roads and bridges is “probably” going to be delayed until after the November midterm elections.

“You’re probably going to have to wait until after the election,” Trump told a crowd at a union training site in Richfield, Ohio.

Trump also touted the details of the omnibus spending bill he nearly vetoed last week, including the $1.6 billion “down payment” for his border barrier.

“We’re getting that sucker built!” Trump said before bragging about pictures of a fence repair project in California that was in the works long before he campaigned on promises to make Mexico fund a divider.

Trump also appeared to take credit for the high ratings scored by the rebooted sitcom “Roseanne.”

“Look at her ratings, look at her ratings! ” Trump shouted. “And it was about us.”

He also claimed that, under his leadership, the U.S. has “the greatest economy we’ve ever had,” and took an odd dig at community colleges.

“I don’t know what that means, a ‘community college,’ ” he said.
