A FIRED-UP Queens construction worker tried to set a seafood restaurant he was renovating ablaze, but was grabbed by panicked co-workers before he could create a spark, authorities said Friday.

Andrew Chung, 41, is facing attempted arson charges for Wednesday’s near-torching of the Islander Seafood Restaurant on Queens Blvd. near Cornish Ave. in Elmhurst.

Chung was caught on surveillance video storming into the eatery with a gas can at about 11 a.m., police said.

He began splashing the gas on floor, walls — even dousing a woman worker — but several other employees stopped him before he could set the fuel on fire.

Chung ran off before police and firefighters arrived.

FDNY fire marshals grabbed Chung near his house and charged him with attempted arson and other charges..

A Queens Criminal Court judge ordered him held on $50,000 bail.

The would-be firebug was arguing with the restaurant’s owner over his wages.

“When I came back everything was finished,” restaurant manager Chen Font said. “If there was any fire everything would have burned, very horrible.”
