Blaz aide gun nab is going to S.I. DA

- John Annese

THE STATEN Island district attorney’s office will handle the case of a mayoral aide who was busted earlier this month in Queens after cops found a gun in a car she was sitting in.

Reagan Stevens, who works in the mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, was in the backseat of a parked 2002 Infiniti in Jamaica when cops found a loaded and defaced gun in the glovebox. All three of the car’s occupants face weapon charges.

Stevens’ mother, Deborah Stevens Modica, is a Queens Criminal Court judge. The Queens DA’s office asked for a special prosecutor to avoid any conflict of interest.

Stevens, 42, was in the Infiniti on 177th St. near 106th Ave. on April 7 when the NYPD’s ShotSpotter system detected five gunshots fired nearby. The gun, which carries an eight-round clip, contained three rounds when police found, a law enforcement source said.
