It’s the dog days

SPRING, WE hardly knew ye.

The thermometers hit a toasty 92 degrees in Central Park on Thursday, a record high. Just last week temperatures hovered in the mid-60s.

The summer-like weather prompted early beach bums to shed their winter blues and excess clothing and take a plunge into the still chilly water.

Twin sisters Anna and Nataliia Marina, 22, headed to Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, with their friend Olena Pikunova, 21, to let the ocean breeze take some of the heat off the sunny day.

The twins, originally from the Ukraine, thought nothing of taking the plunge into the frigid ocean.

“We’re used to this kind of weather,” Anna said. “This is not that cold.”

Four-year-old pooch Myles, a pug from Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn, took his first trip to the beach. Dogs are banned from the beach during the summer months.

In Midwood, on the Brooklyn College campus, the heat had some students panting, especially Liam Greiss, 22.
