YANK GAMEDAY

- By PETER BOTTE

The Yankees still have not lost three consecutive games this season, but they had to overcome a four-run hole and a bout of wildness by closer Aroldis Chapman to ensure that wouldn't happen. Chapman escaped a self-induced bases loaded jam — including an overturned video review on a super-close play at the plate — in the ninth inning before Neil Walker's RBI single in the 11th propelled the Yanks to their fourth walk-off victory of the year with a crazy 7-6 comeback win over Oakland on Saturday at the Stadium, halting their fourth two-game skid of the season.

Chapman walked the first three batters he faced in a 6-6 game in the ninth, but following a mound visit by trainer Steve Donohue to check out a fingernail issue, the hard-throwing lefty struck out Mark Canha for the first out. Pinch-hitter Jonathan Lucroy then lifted a potential sacrifice fly to left field, with Matt Olson initially ruled safe by home-plate ump James Hoye ahead of Brett Gardner's throw home.

Yanks manager Aaron Boone challenged the call, however, and it was determined via video review that Gary Sanchez had grazed Olson with his mitt before the runner touched the plate for an inningending double play.

After reliever A.J. Cole struck out four over the next two scoreless frames, Oakland righty Chris Hatcher walked two in the bottom of the 11th before Walker delivered an RBI single to center to score Sanchez with the winning run.
