Victims’ kin sue parents of Texas shooter
TWO MORE families who lost teenagers in the mass shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas plan to sue the gunman’s parents for failing to teach him the value of life and allowing him access to their firearms, the Daily News has learned.
Pamela Stanich, the mother of victim Jared Black, 17, and Shannan Claussen, the mother of victim Christian Riley Garcia, 15, will be added next week as plaintiffs in a lawsuit already pending on behalf of two other families, their lawyer revealed Friday.
“The parents are united in their effort to hold the shooter’s parents accountable for this tragedy,” lawyer Clint McGuire told The News.
Paperwork filed in the case accuses parents Antonios Pagourtzis and Rose Marie Kosmetatos of negligently allowing their son Dimitrios Pagourtzis access to the .38 caliber handgun and sawed-off shotgun he used to slaughter eight students and two teachers on May 18.
The parents “utterly failed to teach their son any respect for life whatsoever,” the paperwork obtained by The News states.
