Seigler, who is expected to be a catcher in the Yankees’ organization, is a switch-hitter and a switch-pitcher (meaning he’s ambidextrous) and he has hit 92 mph as a righty, which makes him extremely interesting, if nothing else. He has also played everywhere on the diamond: infield and outfield. The Bombers desperately need catching depth behind Gary Sanchez and Austin Romine. As a senior in high school, Seigler had a 1.09 ERA in 25.2 innings on the mound while hitting .421 with 13 homers. He had 16 steals and threw out 12 of 21 potential base stealers. Seigler appears to be a slick dresser based on the suit he wore on draft night, but he’s going to have to get a haircut to comply with Yankee policy, assuming he signs as opposed to going to Florida.
