I’ll find bakers for gay couples

- Kenneth Lovett

ALBANY — Celebrity chef Sandra Lee is offering to help gay couples find bakers for their wedding cakes if they are turned down by cakemakers who cite religious objections.

Lee posted the offer on her Facebook page after the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ruled in favor of a Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

Lee happened to be in Denver filming a special for Halloween when the ruling came out.

She called the Supreme Court decision “unacceptable” and one that “encourages divisiveness.”

“I believe love is love. Therefore if a same sex couple has been turned down by the bakery of their choice, I will find a baker who appreciates your commitment and loves you for who you are,” Lee wrote on Facebook.

Lee is the longtime live-in girlfriend of Gov. Cuomo, who expressed his objection Monday shortly after the Supreme Court ruling.

Cuomo successfully pushed for the legalization of gay marriage in New York in 2011.
