A QUEENS restaurant worker was shot in the cheek during a robbery after he stepped out of his beloved BMW early Tuesday, officials said.

Richard Eng, 46, had just parked his 2013 BMW and was about a block from his home when two men jumped him on 102nd Ave. near 220th St. in Queens Village about 2:30 a.m. and demanded his car keys.

The crooks shot Eng before running off with his cell phone and keys, cops said.

“I heard the gunshot and ran out to see what happened,” the victim’s mother, May Eng, told the Daily News. “No one would tell me anything.”

Medics rushed him to Long Island Jewish Medical Center with critical injuries. He is expected to survive, authorities said.

“Somebody showed me a picture of his face,” his mother said. “He’s going to need a long time to recover.”

Witnesses saw two men running from the scene, officials said. No arrests have been made.

Eng’s BMW was towed to a police precinct for further forensic examination, officials said.

“We need more lights and cameras on that corner,” his mother said. “Probably this guy watches him every night.”

NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said the motive appears to be robbery.

“This gentleman comes home from work, parks his car and winds up being shot in the cheek,” Shea said.

“All indications at this point, while preliminary, is that it’s an attempted robbery. We are doing all the normal investigative steps to see if this can be linked to other incidents in adjoining areas.”

Relatives said Eng works for a Chinese restaurant in Bayside and hoped to open his own restaurant.

“He worked very hard for his BMW,” his mother said. “I drive a junker.”

The shooting came just two days after a 26-year-old man was shot to death as he sat in the driver’s seat of a dollar van parked about 10 blocks from Tuesday’s shooting.

Victim Derrick Stansbury was shot three times on 230th St. near 120th Ave. in Cambria Heights about 4:40 a.m. Sunday.

Medics rushed Stansbury to Jamaica Hospital, where he died.

Police sources said Stansbury was in a love triangle — he’s acquainted with the mother of the gunman’s child.

The alleged killer, John Hines, 24, waited for Stansbury to show up, sources said. A witness identified Hines, and cops arrested him Tuesday on murder and weapons possession charges, police said.

Neighbors said Stansbury drove the dollar van for a company owned by his grandmother.

“My brother was just a humble dude. He had a son,” said Stansbury’s brother, who declined to give his name.
