Nixon’s plan to aid voters
Gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon on Wednesday touted a plan to boost election turnout and combat what she called New York’s system of voter suppression.
In a video released by her campaign, Nixon proposed implementating early voting, same-day voter registration and automatic voter registration for people who come in contact with state agencies like the Department of Motor Vehicles. She also called for more lenient party registration deadlines to make it easier for voters to take part in primaries.
