The man run down by a minivan during a wild car chase on Staten Island has been identified as an ex-con on parole for weapons possession, officials said Wednesday.

Robert Craigwell, 26, was allegedly shooting at the van when it plowed into him on Monroe Ave. and Fort Place about 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

Craigwell died at the scene. A handgun was recovered near his body.

The man driving the van ran off after the crash and was still being sought by police Wednesday, police sources said.

Craigwell was part of a gang-related brawl outside Staten Island Criminal Court where a gun and a knife were flashed followed by a brief chase, officials said.

As one group chased the other, a handful of suspects jumped into a dark-colored minivan heading in the opposite direction, made a U-turn and went around the block in an attempt to cut Craigwell off on Fort Place.

Craigwell died at the scene after the vehicle slammed into him, pinning him between the vehicle and a house, officials said.

Four people pulled out of the van suffered minor injuries and were later arrested, cops said.

The suspects, Isaiaha Black, 20; Tyreek Gomez, 24; Hassan Ray, 22, and Illya Baker, 22, were charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and the illegal use of a motor vehicle for swiping the minivan, officials said.

Craigwell spent two years in prison after pleading to an attempted gun possession charge in November 2016. He was released from prison in February.

The gun possession charge was linked to a 2014 incident in which he was caught smoking marijuana in a Mariners Harbor building. When cops stopped him, they also found a gun on him. When he pleaded guilty to the gun charge, he also copped to a robbery in 2015, according to the Staten Island Advance.

Craigwell’s relatives wouldn’t comment on his death Wednesday.
