Sports section suffering

Jackson, N.J.: For the past 70 years, I have read the Daily News every day. The sports section, especially on Sunday, was the best of all the local papers. Today’s Sunday edition was the final blow for me. All those wonderful full-page columns for each of the major local sports were all gone. In recent years, my favorites were Bill Madden and then John Harper. I will not miss that gas bag, Mike Lupica, who was so full of himself. After sports fans read today’s edition, I imagine there will be even more loss of readers, deservedly so. Sadly, I have learned to read other papers for my sports information and opinions. Goodbye and good riddance to the Daily News.
