A construction worker fatally slashed in the neck on a Bronx street was murdered by his nephew, police said Saturday.

Travis Mason, 18, was charged with murder and manslaughter late Friday, roughly 12 hours after he allegedly sliced Eric Shaw on E. 196th St. and Briggs Ave. in Fordham Manor.

“It’s just a tough situation when your own nephew kills your brother,” said a woman who identified herself as Shaw’s sister.

Video obtained by the Daily News shows Shaw, 55, dressed in a white tank top, knocking into Mason, who was wearing a black jacket.

The men argue and take their fight into the middle of the street. Moments later, Mason slashed his uncle’s neck with sharp object.

Shaw was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died.

A relative said Mason was visiting his family for the summer and worked with Shaw at a construction site.

The pair didn’t always get along and their boss sometimes had to separate them, Shaw’s sister said.

Before the killing, the teen and his uncle got into it again at work, she said.

Shaw allegedly flashed a box cutter at his nephew, and Mason picked up a pair of scissors that he later used in the slaying, the Bronx woman said.

“When he was on the job … when he gets there, his uncle was there. Eric (Shaw) said something bad,” Shaw’s sister told the Daily News.

Shaw had a temper, the woman said. “Eric had a problem ... sometimes he liked to argue. I told Travis to ignore Eric.”Mason, who the woman said is the child of her sister, was planning to return home to Jamaica next week.
