Sex talk just ‘banter,’ sez Charlie Rose
Disgraced newsman Charlie Rose says claims by three of his sexual harassment accusers were nothing more than "routine workplace interactions and banter."
The former CBS News and PBS host filed a motion Friday to dismiss a lawsuit by several former employees. CBS, which is a co-defendant, is also seeking to have the case thrown out.
Rose was fired by CBS and PBS last year amid allegations of sexual misconduct.
Katherine Brooks Harris, Sydney McNeal and Yuqing Wei accused Rose of unwanted touching and making sexual comments. Wei said Rose referred to her as "China Doll."
Rose was suspended from PBS, CBS and Bloomberg last year, amid allegations that he used fear and intimidation for more than a decade to prey on women he sexually harassed while they worked for him.
The broadcaster, who became the subject of a sexual harassment saga he helped cover for months, disputed some of the accusations but apologized for his behavior amid a "deeper recognition of the pain" he caused.
