Islamic State honcho slain

-

An ISIS spokesman and senior commander has been killed while overseeing military operations in northern Syria, and the terror group threatened on Tuesday to avenge his death.

Abu Muhammed al-Adnani was “martyred while surveying the operations to repel the military campaigns in Aleppo,” the ISIS-run Aamaq news agency said.

Adnani, a senior leader in the group, had been the voice of ISIS over the past few years and had released numerous, lengthy speeches online in which he delivers fiery sermons urging followers to carry out attacks.

Earlier this year, he called for strikes during Ramadan.
