Pet-friendly plots

Gov. Cuomo signed a bill Monday allowing pet owners to be buried with their furry friends.

State cemeteries must still provide written consent. The law exempts religious graveyards and takes effect immediately.

The legislation gives “cemeteries the option to honor the last wishes of pet lovers across New York,” Cuomo said.
