Gun-tart kid’s just de$$erts

The family of an Annapolis, Md., boy suspended from school when he was 7 for nibbling his Pop Tart-like pastry into the shape of a gun — and pointing it at another kid — has accepted a monetary settlement from the school dis- trict, both sides confirmed.

Schools shouldn’t be allowed to suspend a student “unless there’s actual bodily injury or a weapon,” said an attorney for the family of Josh Welch, who was suspended in 2013.
