This is your Senate on drugs. As Steve Mnuchin’s confirmation hearing kicked off, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) opened with a long-winded rant.

“I’ve got a Valium pill here that you might want to take before the second round,” Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) offered up. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) thought the comment was “outrageous.”

“A little pinprick of humor might help this committee from time to time,” Robert said.
