Matty Twice: Fly with Falcs and the Over

-

The Wildcat returns for his 20th season in The Post. Including the 1997-2015 seasons in the Bettor’s Guide, Cat’s record in print stands at 546-462 (54.1 percent) against the spread.

FALCONS (-5) over Packers; Over 60: Dan Quinn’s Falcons were blessed by the fact that the cluster of injuries accumulated by the Seattle defense were too much to overcome. The Pack was enabled by Aaron Rodgers’ sustained other-worldliness — and displays of wretched judgment by the offensive brain trust of the Cowboys.

These two appear fated to hit the ground running from the open. Given the pressure applied by the Lions, the Packers needed to sustain overdrive after their loss at Washington to assure optimal January seeding. They’ve been getting it on behind Rodgers, but they’re potentially without Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams’ ankle is a nagging question (though expected to play), and the defense is supremely vulnerable.

The Pack couldn’t afford a December loss, so they’ve been under sustained pressure for longer. Both sides need to generate every point possible, and barring a turnover-fest, these two should each reach the low 30s, minimum. Edge to the Falcons and coach Quinn at home.
