ATM thief menaces woman with ‘acid’

- Tina Moore

A woman was robbed by a man who threatened to pour acid on her after she took money out of an Upper East Side ATM on Monday afternoon, police sources said.

The man told the woman he’d pour a liquid on her that was believed to be acid if she didn’t hand over her cash, cops said.

The robbery occurred at the Citibank at First Avenue and 68th Street at around 4 p.m., police said. The bank was closed for business at the time.

The woman wasn’t injured, and police didn’t reveal what was taken from her.

The robber fled south on First Avenue.
