WH podium to get less Spicey

New York Post - - NEWS - Gabby Morrongiello

White House press secretary Sean Spicer will soon shift to a new role, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Post.

Spicer has stirred controversy on several occasions in his current position, which he has held since the new administration took over in January.

The former Republican National Committee chief strategist became a flamethrower at the podium, often battling reporters over pointed questions and accusing various media outlets of pushing false stories.

A White House official said Spicer is “sick of manning the podium” and is expected to take on a different set of responsibilities inside the West Wing.

The official said the timing of a formal announcement remains unknown, but stressed that Spicer will remain involved “in the communications side of things.”
