Last ‘Kiss’ goodbye
KISS drummer Peter Criss performed his last show in the US before retirement on Saturday, breaking down onstage at the Cutting Room as the crowd cheered. In a farewell address he even praised his former bandmates after years of rock ’n’ roll feuding. When the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, they wound up not playing at all. But on Saturday, “[Criss] said [that] despite everything, he still loves his former bandmates and holds no animosity toward them because it isn’t healthy,” said a spy. “He thanked everyone for their endless support.” Criss mixed solo tunes with Kiss hits such as “Strutter” and his signature, “Beth,” but closed with a classic by his mentor, Gene Krupa.
