Yale getting less ‘man’ly

New York Post - - NEWS - Post Staff

Yale is dropping genderspecific words like “freshman” and “upperclassman” from its official publications and communications, starting in the next academic year.

They’ll be known as “first year’’ and “upper level’’ students respectively, the Yale News said. But students and others on campus will still be able to use the traditional terminology.

Other schools that made similar politically correct name changes include Dartmouth, Cornell and Columbia, the school paper said.
