Family leave OK’d for dog
An Italian librarian won the right to use family sick leave to care for her dog.
Italian animal-advocacy group LAV helped persuade public La Sapienza University that the 12-year-old English setter, Cucciola, was the librarian’s family — and to let her use two days’ family sick leave.
LAV President Gianluca Felicetti said anyone who obtains a letter of proof from a veterinarian should enjoy the same benefit.
Cucciola’s owner said the pooch is recovering well from surgery for a breast tumor.
