WHILE the Yan­kees ad­vanced to the Amer­i­can League Cham­pi­onship se­ries on Wed­nes­day night in Cleve­land, their for­mer star Derek Jeter hosted his Turn 2 Foun­da­tion gala at Cipri­ani Wall Street. He told Page Six of his re­cent re­turn to baseball as co-owner of the Mi­ami Mar­lins, “I went back to baseball be­cause . . . it is the great­est sport in the world. It is what I have done my en­tire life. I needed some time away from the game, so I am happy to be back in it.” He re­tired in 2014, but, “I have al­ways been pretty vo­cal that when I was done I wanted to be a part of an own­er­ship group. That was the sec­ond dream, so now I am get­ting the op­por­tu­nity to live that.”
