Record-setting cats missing in blaze

Two Guinness World Records-holding cats are missing after a fire gutted a suburban Detroit home.

Arcturus, who holds the record for tallest domestic cat at 19 inches, and Cyg- nus, who has the longest tail at more than 17 inches, went missing after Sunday’s blaze, owners Will and Lauren Powers said.

Will Powers says they opened doors as they fled their burning Farmington Hills’ house in hopes that Arcturus, Cygnus and their third cat would escape.

The Powers had sought the records to raise awareness about a cat shelter.
