Rand: Attack inexcusable
Sen. Rand Paul said there is “no justification” for the attack outside his Kentucky home that left him with six broken ribs and a damaged lung.
“There is no motive that would justify hitting somebody from behind and breaking their ribs and damaging their lungs, so no, there is no justification for something like that,” Paul told the Washington Examiner in his first interview since the Nov. 3 assault.
Paul, who returned to the Senate on Monday, was doing yard work at his Bowling Green home when he was tackled from behind, allegedly by neighbor Rene Boucher.
Police have not released a motive for the attack.
Although reports claim they were feuding over grass clippings, Paul said he hasn’t talked to Boucher in 10 years.
