China ‘squeeze’ pleases Schu
Sen. Chuck Schumer on Sunday said he agrees with President Trump’s policy of “squeezing” China on trade issues — because it’s the best way to get at North Korea.
“The way to get at them is by what is the mother load for China — their trade with us,” the Senate minority leader said in an interview with AM 970 radio host John Catsimatidis.
“They take advantage of American workers of American wealth, of American companies regularly, I call them rapacious,” he added, in a rare moment of agreement between the top Senate Democrat and the Republican president.
Schumer said Trump’s tough stance with China will help in negotiations with North Korea, noting that 90 percent of North Korea’s trade is with China, he said.
“If we keep squeezing China, I believe China could ultimately squeeze North Korea and we could get a good deal,” he said.
