Vandal intentionally floods One Easton apartment
A vandal caused thousands of dollars in damage
to an apartment building under construction after he or she plugged a sink and left the water running.
According to Newark Police spokesman Cpl. James Spadola, the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. April 15 at One Easton, the apartment building behind Newark Shopping Center.
A construction worker told police someone closed the drain in a bathroom sink inside a third-floor apartment and turned the faucet on. Water poured onto the floor and damaged the apartment, as well as the unit below and a gym on the first floor.
The flooding caused $10,000 in damage.
Spadola said security footage of the incident is not available; however, police continue to investigate. There are no suspects at this time.
