Police investigating attempted break-in on Kells Avenue
Someone tried to get inside an apartment on Kells Avenue over the weekend, police said.
According to Cpl. James Spadola, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department, the incident occurred sometime between 4 p.m. Saturday
and 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the unit block.
The victim told police he arrived home and noticed his first-floor bedroom window was shattered and there were footprints on an exterior bulkhead door directly beneath the window.
The damage to the window is estimated to be $20.
Spadola said nothing was
reported missing from the apartment, leading officers to believe the burglar did not get inside. However, he said, police are still investigating the incident. There are no suspects at this time.
