Three sought in armed home invasion in Newark
Newark Police are searching for three men responsible for an armed home invasion late Monday night.
The incident, which police described as drug-related, happened at approximately 10:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Phillips Avenue, across the street from the Newark Center for Creative Learning.
Police spokesman Cpl. James Spadola said the three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered the home and demanded to talk to one of the residents, who was not home at the time.
After searching the home, the robbers stole drugs, drug paraphernalia, an Xbox and video games.
Police described the suspects only as a white man, a Hispanic man and a black man.
