Two in­jured in rollover crash in­volv­ing trac­tor-trailer

Two peo­ple were in­jured Satur­day morn­ing in a dra­matic crash that sent a FedEx trac­tor-trailer ca­reen­ing to­ward a home south of Newark.

The crash hap­pened at 5:21 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Col­lege Av- enue, near the in­ter­sec­tion of Old Bal­ti­more Pike.

A trac­tor-trailer col­lided with a sedan, caus­ing the truck to over­turn and end up in the front yard of a house, ac­cord­ing to Sgt. Abi­gail Haas, a spokes­woman for New Cas­tle County paramedics.

The driver of the sedan, iden­ti­fied only as a 76-year-old man, was treated at the scene for chest pain and taken to Chris­tiana Hos­pi­tal, where he was listed in se­ri­ous con­di­tion, Haas said. The truck driver, a 51-year-old man, was also taken to the hos­pi­tal for un­spec­i­fied in­juries and listed in stable con­di­tion.

Delaware State Po­lice troop­ers are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the crash.
