Cam­era, watch taken from two cars in Whitechapel

Two broth­ers are miss­ing their be­long­ings af­ter some­one rum­maged through their cars last week.

Ac­cord­ing to Ne­wark Po­lice spokesman Cpl. James Spadola, the in­ci­dent oc­curred some­time be­tween 1:30 and

7 a.m. Aug. 4 in the 200 block of Whith­er­spoon Lane, lo­cated in the Whitechapel neigh­bor­hood.

One of the vic­tims told po­lice he got a call from his mother, in­form­ing him that some­one had got­ten into his car and his brother’s car while both ve­hi­cles were parked in the drive­way. He said some­one had rum­maged through his glove box, cen­ter con­sole and a back­pack in the back seat be­fore tak­ing a Canon dig­i­tal cam­era.
