Vandal smears dog feces on parked car
A resident of West Main Street is dealing with a stinky situation after someone spread dog feces all over his car.
According to Cpl. James Spadola, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department, the incident occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Aug. 12 and 11:30 a.m. Aug. 13 in the 100 block of W. Main St.
Spadola said someone broke into the victim’s car by using a rock to break the back window and stole a GPS out of the glove compartment. The vandal then smeared feces inside the vehicle and on the hood.
“It appeared to be dog feces,” Spadola said.
A witness told police he saw a group of people standing by the victim’s car around 4 a.m. on Aug. 13, but Spadola said officers are not sure they are connected to the crime. He said police are
still investigating and have not identified any suspects at this time.
