Concert fundraiser: Tonight, 7 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark, 420 Willa Road. Helen Avakian, a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Wisconsin, will perform. Event raises money for UUFN. $15. Open studio: Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m., at Wynn Breslin Studio, 470 Terrapin Lane. Artist Wynn Breslin will give tours of her studio. Free. Memorial Day concert: Sunday, 3 p.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 S. College Ave. The New Ark Chorale will perform American music, from new compositions by American composer Dan Forrest to a medley of songs from the Wizard of Oz, ending with Wilhousky’s arrangement of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and other music that reflects the deep emotional impact of Memorial Day. An ice cream social will follow the concert. Tickets are $15 and available at the door. Kids under 18 admitted free. Concert: Thursday, 7 p.m., on the Academy Lawn. The Newark Parks and Recreation Department’s spring concert series continues with Paul Cullen performing Latin acoustic music. First Friday Ride: June 2, 5:30 p.m., at Newark Shopping Center. A casual community bike ride sponsored by BikeNewark begins at the shopping center and travels through the city. After the ride, participants will meet at the Newark Bike Project for food and drinks. Participants may park for free at the shopping center.
