Police seek man who stole video games from GameStop
Newark Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole several video games from GameStop on Monday after his credit card was declined.
According to Lt. Fred Nelson, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 5:03 p.m. at the store located in Suburban Plaza off Elkton Road.
Nelson said an employee told police that a man attempted to buy six video games, valued at $130.94, with a credit card, but it was declined. He then reached over the counter, grabbed the games and fled the store. He was last seen leaving the area in a 1990s-model flat matte silver or gray Toyota Corolla.
NPD released a surveillance photo of the suspect and is asking for the public’s help to identify him. He is described as a black man with a thin build between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall.
