Po­lice seek man who stole video games from GameS­top

Ne­wark Po­lice are search­ing for a man who al­legedly stole sev­eral video games from GameS­top on Mon­day af­ter his credit card was de­clined.

Ac­cord­ing to Lt. Fred Nel­son, a spokesman for the Ne­wark Po­lice Depart­ment, the in­ci­dent oc­curred at ap­prox­i­mately 5:03 p.m. at the store lo­cated in Sub­ur­ban Plaza off Elk­ton Road.

Nel­son said an em­ployee told po­lice that a man at­tempted to buy six video games, val­ued at $130.94, with a credit card, but it was de­clined. He then reached over the counter, grabbed the games and fled the store. He was last seen leav­ing the area in a 1990s-model flat matte sil­ver or gray Toy­ota Corolla.

NPD re­leased a sur­veil­lance photo of the sus­pect and is ask­ing for the pub­lic’s help to iden­tify him. He is de­scribed as a black man with a thin build be­tween 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall.
