An­nual har­vest fes­ti­val draws cos­tumed rev­el­ers

Heavy rain on Sun­day un­for­tu­nately forced the can­cel­la­tion of Ne­wark’s Hal­loween pa­rade. How­ever, one day ear­lier, hun­dreds of lo­cal kids had the chance to cel­e­brate Hal­loween at Sub­ur­ban Plaza’s an­nual har­vest fes­ti­val. Spon­sored by the var­i­ous busi­nesses in the shop­ping cen­ter, the event is in its 22nd year and fea­tured free food, mu­sic, trick-or-treat­ing at stores and cos­tume con­tests for both kids and pets.
