Purse, wallet stolen from unlocked cars in Timber Creek

Newark Post - - POLICE BLOTTER -

Two residents of the Timber Creek neighborhood repor ted that their purse or wallet were stolen out of their unlocked cars on Sunday.

The first incident happened on South Townview Lane, where a 60-year-old woman briefly left her purse on the front seat of her unattended car at 6:10 p.m. When she returned 15 minutes later, the purse was gone, according to Sgt. Gerald Bryda, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department.

Later, a 44-year-old resident of Swallow Circle reported that her wallet was stolen from her car, which was parked in her driveway around 4:30 p.m. A neighbor found the wallet on Timberlane Drive around 7 p.m. Her money was missing from the wallet.

No suspect description was available.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact Officer Carter McKennon at CMckennon@newark.de.us or 302-366-7100, ext. 3491.
